Black Sun understands that gaining the trust of our clients and people extends to all of the outsourcing which we do, as it directly impacts their experience of Black Sun.
Therefore we need to ensure that we use the best available suppliers, who are wherever possible local to us, so that we are supporting our local businesses.
We expect our suppliers to respect the environment, act in an ethical way and observe their duty of care to their employees and respective stakeholders. We want to act in such a way that we are an inspiration to our suppliers in the way we work.
We are looking to put an ambitious plan into place whereby we have a full procurement process for all of our key suppliers. This will ensure that we are not only aware of our suppliers’ products but also the way in which they work.
We understand that we have a responsibility to our suppliers to act responsibly and we are determined to ensure that we treat them with respect and are good business partners.
Key supplier checks
- All new suppliers are credit checked to ensure we only use financially sound suppliers.
- All key suppliers have contracts so that they are aware of our terms and conditions of business.
- We currently review key suppliers’ CR and Disaster Recovery policies, and where relevant, review any ISO accreditations to ensure that they adhere to our requirements.
Respecting our suppliers
- We understand that cash flow is important to all suppliers. We are therefore continually improving our own internal processes to ensure that suppliers secure payment on a timely basis. Any unforeseen delays are communicated and dealt with promptly.
- Introduce a procurement process for key suppliers
- Review our supplier contracts to include a component on CR requirements
- Provide our CR policy to our suppliers to help them align their business objectives with ours
- The majority of the suppliers we use for Black Sun internal purposes are sourced from local businesses
